Researchers say the change in ChatGPT’s behavior in such a short time is likely because OpenAI is tweaking its product. But because the company keeps its work so private, it’s hard for anyone to tell exactly what’s caused ChatGPT to start flunking. OpenAI says it’s looking into these “reported regressions.

ChatGPT outperformed humans in emotional awareness tasks using fictional scenarios, and its performance significantly improved over time, according to a study. However, the scenarios used were simplistic and may not reflect real-world emotional recognition tasks.
